President Obama’s proposed stimulus package contains a lot of political pork and it seems that members of congress are using the current financial difficulties to fund pet projects or programs which in my estimation, have little to do with economic recovery.
Building bridges creates jobs. Repairing highways creates jobs. Investment in new and “green” energy creates jobs.
Nutrition and birth control programs are great and certainly need funding but they simply don’t belong in an economic stimulus plan. I have a feeling that FDR is rolling over in his grave.
